I love how pictures can totally mask how warm or cold it really is outside! The absence of snow or a beach filled with ladies in bikini's, there is no real gauge to temperature in a picture - but I'll give you a hint, it wasn't warm this day! That's ok, I happen to have been wearing one of those outfits that make you feel like a million bucks. Nothing truly special, but it just worked & made me feel good! ....you know those days? Well this was one of them - great 'Curls' day, a fun shirt (which I love!) with sail boats & my favorite coat! {I love the chiffon detailing on my new-er coat! A super score, thanks to the Hubs fabulous eye! She is the warmest and chicest coat I own!}

Of course just a few days later, the temp have risen dramatically {now in the mid forties, instead of mid 20's} - guess Mother Nature isn't sure if she giving us Chicagoans a break on winter or not! Well at least when it drops again, I could throw this outfit back on and feel great!

Ruby Room

This weekend I had the pleasure of massage and experiencing all the Ruby Room has to offer! And let me start by saying it's a lot!!! Ruby Room is a whole experience unto itself! And I had FUN!! Walking down Division you would never have any idea what is laying inside for you to discover!

Ruby Room is a spa with a different view point than any I've been to previously. Not in a bad way but in the way it focuses it's goal to healing to you the client. It is a 'Spiritual Wellness' center that is spa, salon, energy center and much more. In lay terms, it is a spa who's motivation is to get your spiritual self better along with healing your physical self. Kinda cool, right? Right before you go in for whatever service you choose, you'll pick a card of intention - which align with your chakra's {Now admittedly I was a little skeptical} but it was great!

Current 2012 Spring Lusts - Pastels

My first post on 'Spring Lusts' was all about Brights & neutrals. And today it is all about the Pastels & maybe a few more Neutrals! Best part about both color ways? Besides being pretty fab, they could be incorporated now, with a few extra layers (of course!) but of course again when the temp rise a bit! And who doesn't need more and love neutrals?! They are so versatile! Neutral items are interchangeable and can be worn in many-a-way - and with both the bright or pastel pieces!

I need some more notecards and this sweet refreshing set of cards is just perfect! And the rest are just right on, right on my radar!!! HA!! I just scooped up a sweater just like this - and I'm in love!!! I think I'll pair it with some stark black for winter and plenty of white come spring!

So we are in agreement - super bright and sweet pastels for spring?! Ok cool!

In my 9 to 5, commute to work life I am a flat lover, ballet flats to be exact! Gasp, I know. I love me some heels like no other, but commuting in the them is for the birds! And boy am I hard on my flats - literally wear them to the bone! They are saviors for your knees and mine! :)

For spring and summer bright flats are every where...everywhere I tell ya! I want to grab them in every color!!! Now, given I'm so hard on them & I have so many colors I'd love in my closet - do I Splurge or Save?

This week has been tres long and quite stressful at times but it's FRIDAY!!!! Time to celebrate!! Getting me through the week was gleaming light at the end of the tunnel - a fun Girl night was ahead! I have a little French Themed Movie night with some of my favorite ladies tonight! There will be cheeses, wines, Champagne, other nibbles and oh yeah a movie, Midnight in Paris! I can't wait!!! I haven't figured out what to wear - going to channel the chicest little french lady I can! Thinking ballet flats, stripes skinny jeans.... I need to pop over and check Grace's new series for some ideas!

I love a good theme party!!! Don't you! What are your plans? Have you seen Midnight in Paris yet? I can't wait to see it!

Stud Lover

I am such a stud lover!!! Sparkly study lover! But we've gone over that before....oh come'on you naughty birds what did you think I was talking about?! ;) Earrings, duh!!! When the kind folks at Anjolee* asked if they could send me a pair of Diamond Earrings, you know I had to say yes!!!!

I had such a hard time deciding what style to get, a stud earrings obviously won out!!! The versatility and everyday chicness/wearablity make them a definite closet staple!!! I own a few different varieties of a faux-diamond stud but for the past couple weeks these have won out each and every time - the quality and sparkle is second to nothing I own! I don't know why I've steered away from buying a higher quality earring for so long - I am now a forever convert!

Anjolee has so many amazing pieces from amazing quality diamonds and stones in every style under the sun! I found the diamonds to be a great price and their service was amazing! I wish I liked hoops more, some of these Diamond Hoop Earrings, are fab!

2012 Golden Globes

Award Season is a fun time of year. Not necessarily for the actual award show (for me), but for the fashion!!! I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have gowns galore to try on and play dress up in - I would love it!! Then followed by pampering with Hair and make-up. And yes, I'm sure it sounds so fun to me, an outsider, but I'm not sure getting decked out would ever get old!

The Hubs and I only watched snippets - mainly to catch Ricky Gervais and all his antics (love him!) - but of course you know I was scouring for all the gowns! Here are my 'umm, What was up with you mirror today?!' Bad List.

Angelina. Madona. Reese.

I still don't quite get the red little sash along the top of Angelina's dress {Atelier Versace}. Then you couple that with the red lip and purse, umm no thank you! If you got rid of the red purse, and sash making them the same neutral as dress - then just kept the lip it would have been a whole different situation. Oh Madonna, Madonna {In Reem Acra}. Why would you ever want squares all over your tush....never I say!!! I love the top - but from the waist band down - toss it, barf, boo, not so cute. And last of my not so favorites was Reese {in Zac Posen}. I do not get the hair - not one bit. I am pretty sure this is what did it for me, it's what threw me off. I just don't get it. And then there is something about that silk/satin of the dress where I don't quite love the way it falls. Just not my fav for her at all.

Now for my favs!!!!!! When I watch these shows, I love picking a favorite - then dreaming they'd send it over so I could wear it! I love these gowns, and how they are styled, but given the fact that I can....I'll add little swaps I'd make if I was the one rocking them! Ready for my favs?!!! Love List.

Rooney Mara. Jessica Beil. Laura Dern. Charlise Theron.

Rooney, from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, stole my breath with this dress {by Nina Rici}. Stunning, simple and so my style - I want this for a gala ASAP! I know it isn't anything 'wow' but that is what I love most. Understated glamour and refined glitz - imagine a pair of wild colored shoes concealed beneath and I'd have added a simple huge sparkling bracelet to top it off! I adore this look on Jessica Beil, and of course it doesn't help she has a beyond amazing body!!! Her loosely curled hair against the formality of the high neck and lace - a winning dichotomy! I would have loved to see the monochromatic look with a bright colored shoes, maybe a cobalt (Hard to say but I think just something would have sipced it up a touch)? Some may say dowdy but I love the super high slit and freshness that her undone hair brings - a winner to me.

Oh Laura. Damn...... I want to look this good now and when I'm her age (44). A stunning stature and physique!!! I wouldn't change a thing - Not many people could pull this off, but she certainly does it!!!{Dress by Andrew Gn}! Love! And lastly Charlise. I will first start, I don't love the headband (I know I may be alone in this) but I don't. The dress, and miles long slit - meow {by Dior}! She surprising isn't orange a la spray tans like in years past, yet nor is she washed out and too pale - a perfect mix and the dress is stunning!

These pictures have nothing in common, other than I like them! And that's enough for me, HA!!! I love finding inspiration in many areas- through imagery, written words - any medium really - Pinterst is my addiction to catalog them. Record everything in one place. J'adore! This week has been a rough one, but buckling down and getting it done was the only way to go. So I'd thought I end the week with a little top ten list of sorts!

Top Ten 'randoms' for 2012 thus far:
1. I've watched less TV and more reading - I completed The Girl Who Played with Fire, and and 1/2 done The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest!! Yay for reading!
2. I was 'on track' for healthy eating all week!
3. Gym'd it 4 times this week!!!!
4. Tried out Barre Bee Fit - first timers nerves gone, and now addicted!
5. Got new glasses & LOVE them!!!
6. These shoes are rocking my world - they just arrived!
7. Had lots of great convos with some good girlfriends - those are so necessary!
8. Snow!
9. Knowing I have 3 day weekends for the rest of January!!
10. My Mom is in town this weekend! Love when she visits me!

The Outnet is one of my FAVVVVVV sites to scour, it is the little sister of Net-A-Porter - chalk full of designer items at deep discount (essentially their sale site/store)!!! Barely a season old, items regularly hit their virtual shelves upwards of 50% off! Score!!! {No, they didn't pay me to write this, I just love this site sooo much - I had to share and make sure all of you were taken care!}

Get Sweaty

Ok, so this may sound cliche but to me I find it true - When I like what I'm wearing I walk taller and generally have a better attitude about life. Well, regarding my work out gear - it's the same! Cute gear, feeling good about myself = pushing it harder at the Gym. Plus wearing old T-shirts and ratty sweatpants is so 90's work out video! Below are some of my arsenal, that make going to the gym that much easier! {Since I'm back at it, I'd thought I share my current favs!}

1 - WorkOut Shirt - In winter I like a long sleeve, breathable shirt - Summer tanks/T in the same fabrics. I just got this one and love it! So light and specifically designed for ladies & working out/running
2 - Ear Buds - Time to ditch those free-be's that come with your iPod. I have a similar pair to these, they stay put while bouncing around and sound great (muffle out all those grunts and weird sounds boys make!)
3 - WorkOut Pants - These are my jam! err.... these are my number #1 pants. A word to the wise, invest in good pants - they wick sweat and no ladies not every legging/yoga pant is created equal! They need to be thick - you are bending and contorting - they need to remain black and 'covering' when stretched if you catch my drift!!! (Nothing worse than someone who isn't wearing a 'good' pair and you can clearly see their underware. Barf!)
4 - Shoes - Invest in quality shoes. I learned this the hard way (read 09's adventure here). You can 'run' out your shoes literally, you need good support and a shoe designed for what you are doing. I love my Lunar glides - light and fit my orthotics perfectly! {Note, size up in running shoes if you plan on running - you foot will slide forward, you will jam your toes & nails if you run in shoes too small! Health fact, if you didn't know!}
5 - Valuables Pouch - If you are like me, I try to hit the gym on my way home from work, you need a good pouch to keep your jewelry. You don't want to lose anything, I learned my lesson the hard way, wave high to the single stud whose mate is forever gone 'Hi!'. Plus you don't want to workout & sweat all over your pretty necklace/bracelets! Sweat isn't great for semi-precious metals, it tarnishes, and come-on you are at the gym we don't want to see you in your 'crown' jewels, so to speak!

Now spill, what are you work-out arsenal favorites (I can always use more work-out gear!)??? I'm also pretty excited tonight Leslie and I are heading to Barre Bee Fit, my first time - for some kick butt classes - so excited!

Healthy Girl

This weekend was really all about getting back to a healthier place. The Holidays are so joyous and fun - so many outings with Friends and Family but tend to be laden with dinners out and flowing adult beverages (not that I'm complaining!). But I tend (well, really try!!!) to be healthy with my choices day-to-day. I do good ~~all~~ most of the year til about Turkey day, then I'm lax for a month - with no time like the present - I got back on that 'healthy' course.

I stayed away from the Boob Tube and read for hours. No literally, hours - I think I clocked near 7 total hours - 3.5 in bed on Saturday morning!!! I am currently engrossed in 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' - totally recommend it!

Stocked the house with more 'fresh' choices to snack on.

Made a batch of homemade granola (Shown over plain yogurt)- which by the way, so easy and soo good!!! You can see the whole recipe here.

And hit the gym hard! Boy was it rough - taking a break from going to the gym is always nice during that period but once I go back I always curse myself.

Jacket Swap

What a difference a Jacket makes!!! A Blazer over slacks - totally 9 to 5 ready! Slacks paired with an edgier Moto-Style Leather jacket ready for a night out! I love when classics paired together {Classic Wide-Leg Trousers, basic T/tank/button down, classic pumps/booties in winter & simple jewelry} can easily transition from Boardroom to Happy Hour!!! Gotta love those items you can get wear out of in multiple avenues of your life.

I tend to get items in a 'you are work wear', 'you are non-work' & then get frustrated when I can't find anything to wear! I just added these Slacks to my closet, scooped up on sale and am excited to get plenty of wear out of them! And yes I realize, this is the 7,942 time I used these Booties in a post, you'd think by now the trigger would have been pulled- almost, they were on sale at NM's and of course not one in my size left in the entire company and online retailers haven't let them go to sale - I am stalking! All the rest are already items/variations of, that I own - wahoo!

Jacket: Blazer / Leather Moto

Basics: Wide-Leg Trousers / Basic Tank / Glam Studs / Booties

In addition to my jacket, I'd swap my work tote for a clutch {a CurlyInTheCity Fold-Over black one of course :)}, add an extra coat of mascara and lipstick - then I'd be ready to go!!!

Lobster Mac

On Christmas Eve the Hubs and I headed out for what is becoming a new tradition for our little fam - dinner out at a swanky restaurant. We indulge in little luxurious not normally eaten in every day. This year it included a Lobster Mac appetizer, then surf & turf, a few rounds of tasty cocktails and of course, ending with a sweet dessert!

Starting with a decadent Lobster Mac N'Cheese was definitely the way to go!! Let's just say it didn't last long, and it was beyoooond good! So before we get full steam back into our eating healthy gym routine {we kinda took Dec off, you know like a good person does! ;) } we knew we needed it one more time (or two!). So we decided to try it at home!

It was soo easy, and you can sure bet we will be making it many more times! We used Langoustine tails in lieu of Lobster- as the Hubs states they're Lobster's little cousin - similar in taste and what the grocery had! We used good old Ina as a guide and then went with it!

Do you ever try to recreate food you love at home? This is something the Hubs and I really enjoy doing together!

Recharged & Ready

Wow, what a break and what a wonder it does for the soul!!!! Sometimes just stepping back and unplugging is more necessary than you realize - and let me tell you I didn't know how I needed. I tend to be a go-go-go personality, in both work & personal life but these past 2 weeks I've had the opportunity to turn it down and get back to center. And I'm ready to roll!!!!

Movies, naps, copious laughs with the Hubs, home cooked meals, cuddles from the pooch and time cleaning to get ready to go for the new year!!!

Wow, this year flew by!!! Just a day left in 2011 but I am so exited to see what 2012 has in store! I wish you, my internet friends & family nothing but joy and happiness in all your endeavors in the coming year!!!

The Hubs and I don't currently have any plans for NYE, but if anything comes up, I'll def be pulling this little beaut from my closet to don! I plan on relaxing as much as I can over the long weekend. And get ready to hit the ground running come Tuesday, 2012!

I've held onto the image below for quite some time. I love it. Classic, but unexpected. And yet a totally attainable & easy look to recreate - quite possibly with items you already have in your closet!!! I replicated it, but swapped a red coat for a black one & same for dress - red vs black. I finally have a black coat, I just need a fun little red dress & polka-dot tights!!! (If only the cute red one I've been eyeing wasn't suddenly out of stock....otherwise this would be my Holiday dinner outfit with the Hubs for X-mas eve!!! Queue shopping trip after work!)

Had a really relaxing weekend, which was very needed after a very long week of work. Saturday started off like this:

Yes, snow {I was admittedly excited, since it is ok to snow in Dec - though after Jan 15th no thanks}, so I took the opportunity to get all my chores done (you know adult stuff like laundry, and mopping) and then rewarded myself with a nice nap & some take-out. An very enjoyable day in.

Sunday, I dropped a huge stash to Goodwill, and sold a bunch to CrossRoads (love that place!), then Brunched it with my main Man (aka the Hubs)! Pretty fab day if I say so myself!

6. Glam Piggy Bank - Help her save up for a girls trip or something special in style - plus how glam would this be for her! (Esp the silver & gold versions!)

Deck'd the Halls -Tis The Season

There was some decking the halls round these parts this weekend!!! The house now glimmers and sings it's the holiday season! After much internal debate I eventually decided against a tree and used some of my inspiration to decorate - it turned out fab, so different and still so festive! The garland I made last year is strung all over the house & coupled with white lights the house is aglow so I'm not missing a tree (yet! The smell is the one thing I think will get me the most, which I could solve by a great candle or wreath)!

I am very excited to start decorating the house for the Holidays, it's one of my most favorite times of year (a little behind this year, or so I feel since Dec is tomorrow!!!)!!! I love all the little touches sprinkled around the house, little vignettes of goodness! This year I want to keep with a similar theme as last year - cream, ivory, sparkle, white and gold. However I've had a weird feeling this year - I don't really want a tree.

I can't pin point why but it'll be the first time in years. But then I started asking myself - do you need a tree to be festive? With Wreaths, Garland, Sparkly lights & White.

And when in doubt add more sparkle?! Right???!!!

We have a tall vase just like that and a great expanse of counter in our open living room/kitchen combo..... Who know's if I'll end up with a tree, but you can sure bet there will be lights and sparkle and ornaments every where until I decide!!! And I'll be sure to share!!!

Turkey has passed and the Holidays are upon us! And with the Holiday's come all the fun gatherings - office parties, family celebrations, Gift Exchanges & all the other bountiful nights spent out with Friends and loved ones!!!

Time to get your closet 'PARTY ON' ready!!!! I love shopping for new dresses or items to add to my closet, and best when you can transition them and wear them for more that one occasion!!!

So lets PARTY ON!!!!

1 - Striped Sequin Sweater - Have a casual Holiday party? Glam up jeans with a sparkly sweater and patent ballet flats! This sweater will easily wear for long after the last cheers!
2- Sequin Collar/Cape - Pair black slacks (like #15) and basic T and sky high heels - comfortable and more than just a little chic!!! Tres Chic!!! {If gold is too much, opt for the black or wine versions.}
3- Black Diamond Studs - A perfect addition to every girls closet!!! A touch more drama than a basic diamond stud and these parties call for drama and fun!
4- Lace Dress - add black tights and booties and you'll be ready to go! The deep wine color is a great closet staple, classic shape in non-black but just as easy to wear as black! Top of my List!!!
5- Draped Sequin T - Are you a T-shirt and jeans girl? Why not a sequin tee? I def think 'Yes!'
6- Ruffled Sequin Dress - I mean why not, right??? #1 or the go big or go home dresses! Talk about a NYE dress to remember?!!!! I love it!!! {Tone it down with a black blazer, like #11.}
7- Black Booties - Every girl needs a pair!!! Pair with anything in your closet and you will be looking good! {Skinny jeans & Blazer, Dress & tights} I need these!!!
8- Plunge Leather Dress - She ain't no black black dress - she is everything and more!!! If I had NYE or a few holiday parties to attend she would be number one on my list! I can't get enough and know there are endless possibilities on how to wear her!!
9- Sequin Wrap - Here is go-big-or-go-home-dress #2 and she is gorg!!!! What a stunner!
10- Bow Ring - Everything is better wrapped in a bow, you included! And at less than $4.00 come'on what a great extra kick to any outfit for the next month!!!
11- Denim Tuxedo Blazer - Not boring black, but not too stuffy, this blazer would be a great classic item in any girls closet and would look perfect over red denim and heels or would spice up a basic dress
12- Glitter Flats - No fancy party to attend, or don't feel like wearing heels? Throw on some sparkly flats and you will feel like a million bucks! And after the party pair them with trousers and a white button down for the workweek - Talk about double duty (Anything to make work-wear more fun!)!
13- Diamond Bib Necklace - any outfit is instantly glammed up with some bling - and she won't break the bank!!! Oh yes puh-lease!!!!
14- Sequin Slip Dress - Really shall we explain? No holiday season can be without sparkle - and you all know me - the more the better!!! (evidence!)

I hereby start the petition for regular 4-day weekends, can I get a second?! It was one of those weekends where I did a bit of this a lot of that, and am fully recharged for another week! I did more relaxing and a snuggling on the couch - and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!!! Pure bliss!!

There was a bit of shopping! Hubs and I braved Black Friday crowds, which weren't all that bad and when it was - just taking a step to the side and people watching more than made up for it! I mean we saw Ben Franklin and either Jefferson or Edison rapping on Michigan Ave - yes rapping, who knew! hehe

coat / boots

Finally found some new boots & wouldn't you know it I find a coat I love and want.... AND there are NO MORE LEFT, not one single one left, in my size in the entire company (They searched/tracked for me!)!!! Back to the drawing board I guess. I love the boots so much I want them in black too - but restrained.

There was lots of sewing.

I found two GREAT new fabrics - a super thick and super soft carmel-y tan and a deep luscious burgundy! I listed a bunch of new ones with the zipper colors many of you have requested!!! PERFECT HOLIDAY GIFT FOR YOUR LADIES!!!! (Sorry had to!) There are also two-toned and Gold Sequins listed!!!!

There was LOTS of eating and Holiday Drinking. With Friends in town last weekend (for a long weekend) I'm sure I've gained at least 5 pounds! So I ended on a healthier note - 1.5 hour gym trip, sushi for dinner!

Are you excited for a tasty feast??? I sure am!!! My favorite dish, is a dish I was taught by my grandmother. Broccoli Casserole. There is nothing fancy about our version - it is saved and only made a few times a year. It never lasts long and we usually have to make 2 platers! {2 bags of frozen chopped broccoli, mix in 3/4 of a large Velveeta stick (yes, velveeeta!) until hot, bubbly. In Large storage bag, smash sleeves of ritz crackers into crumbs. Drizzle in a few tablespoons of melted butter. Fill Casserole dish with Broc/Cheese mixture and then cover with cracker bits. Bake 350 until top is golden brown.}

This isn't mine, this is Pioneer Woman's Version...which is so similar to mine!, & classier with fresh broc! HA!

About once a year I have a hair-lema. I'll be in 'I'm growing my hair long' stage and doing fine but maybe a tad frustrated because it never seems to grow. Then I spot images like this and I want to chop the little 'long' length I have all off.

And I know it's the same story every time. It's all fun and cute - the cute-I-like you feeling lasts about a week or two. Then it's all BOO! I regret it because I really want that long long hair again.

Just in a hair rut I guess! Am I alone, how do you resist the scissors - or better yet: How can I make my hair longer faster?!

However the more I thought about how versatile black really is, I kept coming back to the black isn't always boring {Although I try harder than anything to get my Mom to sway from it, she doesn't wear anything but black!}. Chicago Shopping - Kiehl's

On a recent shopping trip I noticed a sign for a new store - a giant Kiehl's Flagship store right downtown {located in The Shops at North Bridge, in the Nordstrom shops}! And the doors open this week on November 17th!!!

I don't currently use their products, but often wish I did - I get afraid trying new items. And I'm sure it's not just me (right?), I often get dismayed when asking questions to a sales person who is quite pushy and obviously trying to push products on me. I always get home with something that I am unhappy with - and with my skin this a not a good thing, read break-out! But this new location, with dedicated & knowledgable staff and all it will offer - a perfect way for me to stop by pick their brains & quite grab a few items!!!

I've only heard great things about their products. And I personally can't get enough of & love the simple lines of their apothecary style packaging - simple and to the point. Right up my alley!!!! {They even have a bottel return & get credit program, Love a green company!!} I struggle with my skin, occasional breakout, rough patches and heading into another long winter I can't wait to head over and have a personal consultation and try out a bunch of possible new-to-me products!!!

Unrealistic (Housing) Dreams

A long sought after property has recently hit the market. It's been featured in many a magazine, 'pin-ed' galore!

Living Room. Facade. Back Yard. Kitchen.

I had an irrational unrealistic-emotional-type unfufilled-letdown-whyisthisnotfair feeling when I read that Jenna Lyons' (err, head brains behind J. Crew...who I met here...awesomeness just incase you ~~were under a rock~~ didn't know) Brooklyn brownstone was for sale. I don't have a paycheck nor trust fund to afford anything near that amount, nor a current residence city that would even make it an iota of a possibility. So, umm.... I am occasionally irrational. There I said it. (Hubs, no comments please! ;) ) I am totally serious, my heart hung low for a solid hour or two - supa-dupa silly I know! I had almost a buyer's remorse experience, except I didn't buy anything, just wish I could.

But hey I dream big.

But Phooey.... why not me?! I mean who wouldn't want to live there?! I Die. I Do.

Here is an insanely easy Cider Cocktail that we've been consuming on the regular. 3 ingredients - Cider, Ginger Ale and Bourbon {2:2:1 ratio}. (Key: Get yourself a high-end really gingery ginger ale vs the basic store brand. We've been getting this from Binny's)

I have an earring thing. I am very set in my earring ways... where all other jewelry I change color and style not my earrings.

I've had my ears pierced for as long as I can remember. And for just that long I have worn the same style of earring, daily - a stud. Either a diamond stud or a gold/silver ball. I solely blame my Mom, she wouldn't allow hoops or any dangly earrings, nope, no she wouldn't! Sorry Mom, You know this is true!*

I don't know how many countless pairs of earrings I have purchased over the years in attempts to cross over - lots of big dangly stunners. I put them on only to take them off less than an hour later, they all get tossed in my purse by the time the first drink arrives or as soon as I get to work. I guess I've never been able to get used to the feeling of a heavier earring swinging about. Call me crazy but I can't!!! They usually end up donated to a friend, Mom or Goodwill.

Then two new pairs came into my life, and now I happily rotate!!!

In the Kitchen: French Fries

Every meal is way better with French Fries...am I right, or what (maybe even ones that are a touch too crispy, read burned?!)?! I love them myself! Truffle Fries, Garlic Fries, Chili Cheese Fries...Carne Asada Fries - catchin' my drift. Now a traditional fry is not the healthiest, all fried up in its goodness. Tasty but not good on the waste line. So for our regular funday-Sunday football food I wanted to try a different version. Oven Baked Fries. I went off this recipe and I really liked them.

Make sure you serve them along something tasty!!!! I made sliders - with all different toppings: Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Bleu Cheese, Onion, Lettuce...you name it.

So the funniest thing happened to me yesterday- I got a text from my Hubs asking if I knew who the next H&M designer collaboration was going to be? 'No' I casually replied - hadn't heard anything. He quickly responded back 'Versace' ..... then 'Who is true the Fashionista?' HA! I mean really!!! I could help but laugh & then hop online!

Well, ladies he is definitely the shoe-aholic of the family.... but I will never admit true defeat... Back to the collaboration - Release date is 11/17 and both Men's/Women's will be released. Its a tad more old-school Versace for my taste (read, silk shirts, wild pattern and 90's vibe) but there are still some fun pieces. The Studded leather pieces are my personal favs.

Every year when the weather starts to turn my shoe desires go from strappy sandals to boots. Boots and boots for days! No girl can't every have too many boots, am I right? This year I am getting stuck on which short - ankle height boot to get. I can't decide between a near flat (<1") or a pair with a touch of a heel (>1.5"). Which pairs are you leaning towards?? {I said pairs...I know - Hey it took me a while to narrow it to these!}

Often before/after appointments or as a de-stresser after work I walk the downtown shopping area by my work. A little window shopping to take the edge off - then easily hop on the bus home! Over the past few months I've noticed something - something happened to Old Navy!

There are still Mom jeans and various items I wouldn't necessary categorize as fashion forward, however mixed in there are some jems!! I'm sure we've all seen the utility vest that appears to have made homes with many a lady (present company included, at that price point how could you not!). But there are quite a few others!!!

While browsing around I found the following - I wouldn't mind ~~all~~ some of these appearing in my closet! Esp # 3, 4, 5!!! (How fun would a leopard coat be to spice up dreary days?!)

How quickly things change in a week. Last weekend I was singing songs of Indian Summer, this weekend it was most definitely tunes of Fall. Here are some snippets of how I spent the first Fall* weekend here in the city!

Chunky Knits. Pumpkin Spice Scents. Chai-Cider =Cha-ider (recreating my new favorite drink from my favorite coffee shop - how to coming!). New Bedding (new down, duvet, and winter layers for the bed). Metallic Knits (a new sweater dress that I can't wait to wear). *First weekend it actually felt like fall - I loved getting to wear layers and a Blazer that I haven't touched since last year! However I'm sure this novelty will wear off soon.

It's like a black cloud has been hanging over this week. Incredibly busy - life & work. Work obstacles that seemed impassable. Migraines that make you wish be-heading was a viable option. And the sudden elimination of sun, warmth & summer.

This week was dark and stormy to say the least! Thankfully its Friday. I have a lunch date with one of my best Chicago girlfriends today. And I can see the weekend from here!!! If you have read the 'ole blog for any length of time, you may have picked on a certain lack of 'Curly' in this here City. My hair is mostly shown straight or with big barrel curls/waves - artificial curl. So it really appears I am some sort of joke-ster, with my name....I am not, the curls are there. See:

I wear my hair curly 4/5 days a week to work - so when you see me its a weekend and I have the time to play & I'm not gonna lie, these curls are crazy and sometimes look horrible (to me) and I am not a fan or wearing my hair up when I go out. And straightening it is a surefire away I will like it more than not.

I'm guessing the folks over at Misikko picked up on that! They emailed and asked I wanted to try one of their salon grade flat irons....umm YES!!! So they sent me a Hana - and me loves!!! They wanted my honest opinion - so here you have it: After using this beauty for a few months I'm sold. It works wonders for my fine yet unruly curl. I would totally recommend checking out their site if you were in the market for replacing an old hair dryer/straightener.

PS- You'll never guess that I took these bottom photos with a point & shoot camera would you?! I grabbed a new one recently to throw in my purse for nights out...It has manual settings just like my SLR, so I can do all the stuff I want (Depth of Field without having my SLR on me, should the need arise!) !!!

All sorts of Indian Summer in these parts - can I get an AMEN!!!!! Although it seems to happen every year, one last amazing weekend sneaks in, but don't worry your little heart I took full advantage!

Waking up early, getting chores done early made way for ample bike rides. Hubs and I owned the streets this weekend, we zipped up and down, east and west! Of course with plenty of time spend recharging for the pending week!

As I have gotten ~~older~~ err... more mature I strive to be smarter with my purchases. Less impulse buys, less buy an item-only-to-never-wear-it-again purchases. Now, I won't say it never happens cuz come-on I have those days where my closet is filled with junk, have nothing to wear and run and grab a new dress - only to have it sit untouched forevermore. But...... I am trying not to do that any more. Splurge on cravable classics that will last, save on trendy and just overall be smart and satisfied with what I have!

Also, find those pieces that can transition. Fancy to casual. Work to play. Essentially making my dollar and closet work for me more than I work for them! And overall I've been pretty darn proud of myself!!

But come-on most of you know me well enough by now - I am a shopper! I do still have a 'Closet List' & I thought I'd share a few of the items remaining on it, that all stick with my moto above.

1. Leather Jacket - Blazer style cut, updated color & versatile for both work/play
2. Tortoise Watch - I've been wanting another watch for quite some time & this color has always stood out. (Another version)
3. Bangle - I love the design and I have been looking for a unique bangle to add to my collection.
4. Statement Ring - I have been lusting after a YSL Arty for over 2 years...I think lusting for that long means you really want it!
5. Classic Blazer - This updated classic is a modern version of a basic black plus part tuxedo blazer - the edginess of the leather captured my eye, and hasn't left my brain.
6. This sweater is just me in every way!
7. Colored Denim - I have lusted after the bright blue J Brand denim since they hit S.Bop in early summer - but wasn't interested in paying full price on a trendy item - this Old Navy version has me singing!!!

Much to the Hubs dismay I want to redo our living/dinning room. All new furniture - couch, chairs, tables, console...you name it! I may have mentioned this once or 500 times before... :) I talk of it often and have pretty much ~~pre~~determined all the pieces we need to make it perfect! (Such a girl right?!) Alas, I'm receiving some resistance but I have an idea on how I can update our pad for the time being.

We have a thin wall, like the upper right, just by our kitchen. I think a coat of chalk board paint would do it good - maybe a project for this weekend!!!! Throw a frame on top, why not!!! (I have a great one too!) Do you ever do little projects to update the space and make you feel a tad better about the rest of what is going on? ~~Will my Landlord hate me?~~ - I think I might do it!!! Hard Cider!!!

I had a great time all weekend - after a successful trip to the fabric store {3 new styles will be listed and featured soon!} I grabbed a tasty lunch with the Hubs and then ventured out to the Suburbs for a close Friends wedding! Loved my new dress and can't wait to wear it again - she will be a fun piece to re-wear in multiple ways this fall/winter - I will also to be a good blogger and photo it ;)

Fell in love with a new pair of shoes at Neiman's and discovered the greatest new to me store, Aritzia- will be doing some damage at their downtown location asap!

**Sorry for missing you at the end of last week!!! Thursday night, Mother Nature took on the power and won! Crazy high wind gusts knocked out the power on my block for a couple hours - and by the time it came back on I had given up sitting in pitch black and knocked out for an extremely early night (read near 8pm!) Glad to be back!

Snaps: The Ace Hotel, Palm Springs

To say we enjoyed our stay at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs is an understatement! We had an absolute blast, didn't want to leave & want to go back! The staff was super friendly from check-in, Bartender, to massage therapist - you name it, the staff was super great during our stay!

The grounds are stunning, simple and perfectly Palm Springs! Retro, modern, desert chic. I'll let the photos do the talking!!! Tons of pictures - this vacation, esp this resort really fueled me to pick up my camera, feed my hobby and be creative!

Our Patio Room - {Private patio, perfectly outfitted with table chairs and fireplace!} If you wanted anything in the room for your own, you could just take it and they would charge you after you left, no hassle should you chose! - we were very temped by the print above the bed, and the funky laundry bag {which was a vintage mail carrier bag!} A perfectly stocked mini bar - wine in a box (heck ya!) And every possible mix chilling in the fridge.

The Grouds: Stunning. Free Bikes to ride around. The hotel is 100% pet friendly, I would have brought the pooch in a heart beat!! Minimal desert chic landscaping, & Perfect pools!

See what I mean, pretty fab right??? We now have the 3 remaining Ace Hotels on our list of places to go/stay - I mean this little desert retreat was a total jem, the others have to be just as stunning in their own ways. {And no I wasn't paid to write this, we just absolutely loved our time at this resort!}

Oh Hot summer days! How I miss you already!!! You have left Chicago (we have transitioned into fall over in these parts!) but thankfully the warm memories of California are still fresh in my mind. On the Palm Springs leg of our vacation I had an opportunity to wear the dress I mentioned here, in a casual and easy manner - and I adored the way it fit - I may try to work a way so I am able wear again before the temps drop too much {Add booties, tights and a Blazer, perhaps!} If not I know she will be a frequent flyer on destination vacations and all next summer!

weekend recap 9/24-25

This was one of those weekends you often wish you had more of, you accomplish a lot and have ample time relaxing as well! It started Saturday off with a full house cleaning (Being out of town/friends in town for the last 3 weekends I was out of my OCD groove - but don't worry it's back and the house is spotless - makes me feel good! And yes, I have a cleaning issue - I am obsessive about having a clean house - it makes me feel good!) and tons of laundry! Top to bottom is was wiped, scrubbed and mopped clean! Then stole an afternoon bike ride and dinner al fresco between rain showers with the Hubs. Then yesterday after a morning of snuggling the pooch in bed and half a season of Sex in the City were followed by a grocery run, mani/pedi {Essie Stepping Out & Opi Give Me Moor}, Football Snack making {Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip, above}, and of course late afternoon naps!

I may not have gotten to everything on my to-do list - but I'm recharged and ready for another week! And promise to get sewing again - I did cut a bunch more clutches, just need to sew them up! What did you end up doing?

'Tis the weekend, relief! This was my first full work week, in about a month {between Labor day and vacation} and boy am I wiped out! The temps have risen and dropped again and the weekends forecast is looking like rain for the entirety.

Hopefully I can get a much needed mani/pedi, some shopping & crossing my fingers to track down some new fabric for some more clutches...other than that - just regular weekend duties - laundry, cleaning and getting ready for another work week....You can sure bet I'll be dreaming I was here!

WeekNight Meals: Leftovers 'Dillas

I mentioned a while back about some of my easy quick 'family'-healthy-weeknight dinners, well there are quite a few other commons in there too!

Did you guess? Quesdilla's!!! This So Cal girl can eat Mexican til the cows come how...or pigs fly - which ever makes you happy! Anywho, the Hubs regularly works late (after the dinner hour) so I fly solo a few nights a week. I am not gonna say there isn't cereal, PB&J in heavy rotation on those nights because there is! But I really try to make items the Hubs isn't as into as I am.

The Quesdilla is one of those! As I mentioned before we often eat grilled chicken so adding those leftovers to this meal - super easy...and toss in some bell peppers - make much more hearty! I use whole wheat tortillas, fat free sour cream trying to keep the healthy-eating vibe! And about 5 mins from start to plate, cuz this girl is starving by the time she gets home in the evening!

What I Wore - The Reunion

I know you were all dying to know what I wore to my 10-yr Reunion , right?! HA! Well here ya go. I showed you a sneak peak last week - that was one of the images from our Photo Booth (which turned out fabulously!!!) After all the help from the lovely ladies (this post) I was finally one the right track. I feel head over heels for a couple of them - tried to work my magic and track down a couple of the dresses in my size & without luck. So I hit the Internets hard, and then stumbled onto this little jem.

Go big of go home right?! Well that's my motto! (plus being the planner/hostess of sorts a little spice was allowed!) The dress was def a hit with the ladies, a few of my guys friends commented how sparkly it was - you know guy speak for cute dress ;) I loved her and am ready to wear her again...Who is having a sparkle party? I'm Ready! New Years Eve? You bet...now to find to an occasion where sparkles from head to toe are totally required!

CA Holiday Part 2

After surviving the Black-out.... :) and getting a few hours of sleep we promptly met up with my Dad, ate a great brunch on the beach at the Bahia Resort & then we gave Hubs the tour of SD! We are back from our California Holiday.... I'm very sad (it was soooo fun!) and brought back a cold (too much fun! Fun-over I'd say!). But what can you do?! Look at pictures that's what!!! We took nothing short of somewhere around 600! :) We had tons of fun! So I'll share a few here and there!

Here are a few from our first day in SD! After we arrived, and promptly ate at In N'Out (sad we din't have more meals to consume, because I could have used 3 more burgers or shakes from here!) then went and walked around gorgeous La Jolla. After some great sightseeing we headed to our hotel, to get ready for dinner and drinks!

Shortly after check in, the power went out. There was a massive power outage in southern California - it hit from Mexico north to Orange County and east all the way to Arizona. It went out and didn't come back on til 2am. 12 hours with only wine in the lobby, and then a midnight raid of the minibar - after starvation pangs hit our bodies! It definitely wasn't the way we planned on spending our first night on vacation. Thankfully we had the company of one of my great friends, Justin, and roughly a bottle of wine each....lets just say it got silly fast, then walking the pitch black downtown streets in search of food - unsuccessful! Thankfully it came back on!

I really do not want to head home, home to the land where winter will be coming soon. Leaving land of the perfect weather! I am having the most amazing time. Our time is winding down, we are absorbing every last minute....we may be sitting on the patio stargazing. Or relaxing in the Jacuzzi. Or belly up to the bar.

In the Desert

Can't say enough how much we are loving our time in California. Man - I had no idea how much I missed this place (silly but true!)!!!! Time to figure out a way to head West!

The weekend may be over but vacation is most definitley not!!! We have left wonderful San Diego, and are now relaxing in the Desert! Staying in Palm Springs and loving every minute of it! Gotta run massages are booked and the pool is beckoning us to come play again!

This long weekend we started in summer and most definitely ended in fall. 95 degrees with near 100% Humidity & sundresses to 65, gusty & layers!

I went darker at the salon. Covered over the subtle ombre I've had all summer, and I love it! My eyes appear to stand out so much - amazing how a little change really makes you notice.

Things are looking up. At the ninth hour I juggled and managed to avoid a major catastrophe at work {last night} but no fear I packed up and left on time, bringing home my computer just in case....all for the glory - it was my Friday! Loving firm aka work holiday's!!!! A celebrated and cherished extra long weekend! A 4 day holiday weekend!!! Yippee!

So it is now the weekend!!!!! Told ya everything was on the up and up!!! 95 degree temps - yes you read that right, in September mind you (And yesterday I was posting about beanies and sweaters!)!!! I have lots I want to do, but mostly I want to enjoy all warmth!!!

Fall 2011 Inspriation

After living in Chicago for 3 years, I have grown to love fall! A significant change in weather, and as much as I want to bask in the sun all the time, I love the cozy feeling of sweaters, hearty meals and the on-slot if varying accessories & layers that you can start wearing again (beanies, scarfs etc)!

Here are a few looks I've saved to my Fall Inspiration folder...I find it better to find looks and ideas I love before purchasing stuff! So wise in my old age! HA! Have been saving them for a bit now because the weather has yet to 'turn', still in the 70's and 80's (THANKFULLY) but is all over the stores!

First, Denim: Tucked blouses to Wide Leg Trousers {Can wear now!}, Denim on Denim, Denim with form fitting light sweaters. I know my skinny denim will be around but I always love a wide leg look (here & here)!

Saturday included what has become a monthly tradition, shopping at the Randolph Street Market. I love this monthly market - overwhelming and utterly amazing! So many treasures and trinkets to be found! I met up with Audrey, Danielle, Lesley, and Alania - of course you know we had a good time! Afterwards we had lunch and chatted it up! Made for a wonderful Saturday afternoon!!!

The last thing in the world I want to think about is winter. I am a summer girl through and through. But I am. I couldn't help it after I got my most recent J.Crew Catalog...drool worthy, and list worthy items abound! I stopped and fell in love when I saw this coat. The Symphony Coat. Me loves her.

I have a big hole in my winter wardrobe, I have no coats that I love. I have the big parka, aka walking sleeping bag, puffer of a Northface (They are a necessity in snowstorms and esp on my early morning commutes to work). But they are ugly, downright hideous - truth. But you have to some days, no lie when the wind is blowing 20+ and the temp are already near 20, windchills of 10 aren't swell nor warm!)! I also have a wool trench style that works. But neither top any sort of 'Me Like' list. And this winter after trying on bunches last year I'm determined to make that search my bit... err I am determined to win the battle! ;)

The irrational side of me wants the Poppy Red. The Practical side says go for the Black. And somewhere in between falls the Golden Mustard color. And most of me wants all three! Which do you like?

In the Kitchen: Corn Salad

This is by far one of my favorite new side dishes!!! I love chips and dip and fries, don't get me wrong - but I love messing around in the kitchen and veggies are much better on the waistline (Hello Reunion!)!!! I love corn and could eat it constantly, the Hubs doesn't agree so we don't eat it too often. Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to try something new. Corn and other veggies in a salad!!!! I love it, like really really love it - Hubs was afraid to try but alas he came over to the corn side! I will be eating this as a side or a meal (when I'm home alone) often from now on!!!

I adapted a recipe I had ripped out of InStyle from last summer.

{Similar versions here & here} But here is how it went down....again so easy you have to try it! On a hot grill, grill your corn (I used 3 ears, and we got about 4 servings). About 3-4 minutes before flipping it around. I don't really have a science when I'm out on the grill, get them toasty and char'd up!

While the corn is grilling - Thinly slice 1/2 red onion. Half or Quarter about 1 pint of grape tomatoes. Chop 2 avocados, to be roughly the same size as your tomatoes. Slice 1 lemon for juice.

Trick: Let corn cool first - they get hot! ;) & to easily cut corn off the ear, get a large bowl, place a small bowl upside down in center. The large owl will catch everything and the small is a great balance point - All the goodies fall where they need to! (remove small bowl when done....obviously, but just checking!)

Now, mix in onions, tomatoes. Juice 1 lemon over mixture and about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (2 swirls around the bowl did me good!). Add some fresh cracked pepper & mix again. Now add avocado and lightly toss. Then EAT UP!!!! {I sprinkled a bit of feta over the top, bc why not and who doesn't love a little salty feta!}

I am wishing I had a bowl in front of me right now! What are your go to side dishes?

Friday's are my most Favorite day! End of the work week and signaling time to relax. Had one of those weeks where work crawls by, I was literally staring at the clock a few times yesterday - as if in disbelief of what time it really was. So, I am ready for the weekend!

Oh well, she's a done-zo! Weekend plans include a Bridal Shower, Yoga, 'Last Party for My Last Name' - a Bachelorette party for boys & girls. Sewing, napping, and figuring out how to make people buy reunion tickets!!!!

Oh, maybe you can help me - you know by now I'm planning my 10-yr HS reunion (why again?!). How do I get people to buy their tickets? I personally know about 20+ people who are coming who haven't - our total count looks really low but I know it will easily double if not triple - but how do I do it??? The event is in 3 weeks! SOB! I'm stressing and I don't need stress or gray's at this age?! ;) {We have pleaded on FB, sen personal emails already}

And what are your plans??? Hopefully something good!!!! Have a great weekend!

In the Kitchen: Potato Salad

Potato Salad - a favorite summer side often seen at BBQ's. However, usually the farthest from my mind as something to make. But a small bag of fingerlings sitting in the fridge and a hankering for winter-y mashed potatoes, they were born!

I never, repeat ever, grab these from the side table, mostly because they have always tasted too much like the mass-market super market kind so often served. That bad notion of what potato salad tastes like may have scared me! hehe.... And then add in the egg factor - no a big egg fan - and chunks in my 'salad' equal no beueno.

So I decided to get-over-it and make some I would love. And I am proud to say these were a huge hit, HUGE!!!! (I'm already craving more and may not be planning a BBQ so I can make/eat more!)

Chop roughly 1lb fingerling potatoes into like size chucks, add to boiling water. Boiling until tender but still have a bite. (I like a bit of chuck in my potato, once mixed up)

While boiling, chop 1/4 red onion, 3 green onions. When potatoes are done drain and put into fridge to cool off.

Once cool, add roughly 1/4c mayo (3 big spoonfuls), about 2 tablespoons yellow mustard (2 good squeezes), the juice of one small lemon, and then mix in chopped onions. Garnish with a sprinkle of chopped green onions. The lemon juice really brighten's the dish up and makes it taste fresh and perfect for summer!!!! Keep in refrigerator until ready to serve - best cold, in my opinion! When ready, take out and enjoy!

Missoni + Target

I know it's old news, the upcoming Target & Missoni Collaboration, I know. However the full look book, that is semi-new news! I just saw the full 400 items this past weekend - after we've all seen just a few of the leaked items! I was anxiously awaiting the release, however after looking I am feeling slightly under whelmed.

Not sure about any of the clothing items. It was very hard to tell, especially since most of the models were clad in more than 2-3 items in one shot - So I couldn't really tell what was there. A few items did make it to my short list, and I hope to snag these.

The blanket and cocktail set are at the top - I just hope that isn't a kids or baby blanket....cuz I wasn't into the others and there was no description. Overall, I am sad this was a semi-miss for me!

And if I had need, or room for another bike - how fun is she?!

Were there any items, after seeing, that you are going to be first in line for??? And don't forget it will hit stores Sept 13th!

S.O.S

Sending out an S.O.S...I'm sending out - Are you all singing the classic song with me?! I'm sure It'll be in my head all day now! Ok, so last week I sent out an S.O.S to some friends, I need help! In less than a month I have my 10-yr High School reunion - AAAAHHHHH!!! How did those ten years go by so fast? And man, am I really this old?

I called on these ladies because I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed at finding the perfect dress. I mean who wouldn't want to look amazing when seeing folks you haven't seen in 10 years?! I also have the added pressure - I am the one half of the duo planning the event! Planning an event for 400 people (Our class was 1300!). The S.O.S was beyond necessary!

Splurge or Save: Transitional Boots

I adore these Sam Edelman booties. Although, as with most every shoe choice I debate. And subsequently second guess how they will look on me. But accounting for the fact that I no longer live where sandals are acceptable all year anymore.....Ahh Chicago and your seasons! I need this ankle style of boot & see sooo Cute!

And then a couple days ago while reading one of my favorite blogs, CouldIHaveThat, I was like whoa! I knew I needed to get these boots! Samantha looked great rocking them - the push I needed to go grab a pair of my own. I liked 10bajillion times more than before! Look how great she looks rocking them in summer gear, and we know they will transition great. Then I noticed where she mentions getting hers from. Targ-eee (You know Target but the fancy way to say it, Targ-ay....). Ok bird walk done, back to the point. WOW - look so similar.

So I hoped over to T's website to see if they even carried them....And holy-stop the presses they are currently on SUPAH sale, $12.24!!! Umm You know I purchased them, you know to test! (Hubs, I NEEDED THEM!!!!). Now at least I'll have more to spend on another pair of fall/winter boots!

DIY: Friendship Bracelet

Layering bracelets of all types has been a major hit on my wrists as of late! And I have been breaking all the rules and mixing metals. What can I say, rule breaker over here! So a couple nights ago while watching TV, I decided to make another. I rummaged around in my craft drawer, came out with some random cording and chains.

Opened the chain, to a length which matched the width of my wrist. Then snipped some lengths of cording. Using a simple loop knot, I attached them and then knotted the various strings together. Et voila! So simple and a perfect addition to my collection!

Have you been loading up your wrists with various friendship and other styles bracelets this summer??? I sure have and love it!!!

If you do try...you may LOVE IT! I bought a group of classes at a yoga studio, and just sat on them. I was nervous. Why, I have no clue. I wouldn't know any one there. I have never taken a yoga class previously so I waited. Then on a whim I booked my first class, and I went. It was amazing!!!! I was still sore yesterday! I sweat (a LOT)!!! I was physically exhausted when the class was over, yet felt physically alert and exhilarated! I pushed myself in a different ways than I regularly do when working out. I am a convert - and I can't wait to go back!!!

I have been walking taller, and now I want to see if all the crazy things I used to be able to make my body do - to see if they will return (splits both ways, the foot behind the head...). My teacher was great. The studio was gorgeous.

Has anyone else felt a little timid before trying something new? Then completely fallen in love?! Has anyone tried any new work-out classes that they absolutely love??? Now I want to try them all!! I am now tempted to try all the other classes that have interested me (Bar Method, a pole-dance class etc!).

Ahhh, the week is over!!!!

After taking some time off last week, this week was a beast! Those days off relaxing are always great but getting back into the work routine is always rough! And playing catch-up can be no fun! Oh well, we made it!!! I'm super excited for the weekend! I have my first yoga class booked, loads of sewing to complete, and plenty of time relaxing ahead (I hope!)!

The market is in the West Loop, my neighborhood, and has a ton of old warehouse's and old factories.....we had a blast! It's so much different having a lady behind the lens taking your picture! I think we took a million! ;)

**UPDATE** And I realize (after this posted!) you can't even see the fray of the shorts, silly me I folded them up...but the are old jean cutoffs, so it's there, I swear!

Refreshment - the best Cucumber Lemonade

This past Saturday I went to the Randolph Street Market, again....It's becoming quite the tradition, I know! I had the pleasure of going with the lovely Audrey of A Lovely Escape & we had a BLAST! We talked, we wishfully window shopped and we each picked up some fun new trinkets for our places. We've already planned on going again next month!!! I regretfully left a few items there (as always) but here's to hoping next month those treasures return!!! (like the vintage Singer Sewing Machine base with carrera marble top - the perfect side table & a bright orange vintage frame with chalkboard inside!)

Maybe by the next one, I'll have talked the Hubs into that new couch and then the thought of bringing home more side tables & bigger furniture pieces wont alarm him so much.....He isn't on the new couch train, yet! ;)
