happy Friday!

Happy Friday Loves!!! I've jetted off, headed south. Warmer weather, where pre-winter has yet to set in. To celebrate and spend the weekend with the best lady I know. Mom. Join me in a 'Happy Birthday Mom!!!'

She's one of my very best friends. My most loyal blog reader! ;) And most of all she always challenges me to be the best me, no matter what adventure or turn I take in life. And for that I can say I have a pretty dang amazing Mom!

We are off shopping, and eating, and shopping, and a day at Disney World - why not celebrate turning 21 (again) at the happiest place on earth?!!!!! And probably some more shopping. What can I say we are pro's when we hit the stores together!

thursday treats

What a simple stunning headband!!!! I am in love! Messy top knots on a lazy morning can instantly become glam! What about when the weather really dry's out in winter, and you want to save the number of blow-dry's (I sure do!) by the third day, I need all the help I can get to make my hair look 'fancier'!

Do you rock headbands? Wouldn't you love a great piece like this?!!!!

Book Club

Over the past year I sucked at reading. Sucked. Well that has been fixed, I joined up with some fab ladies and am now in a book club! I swear I'm not 80!!! Cuz that's what the Hubs asked me! of course he was just kidding but you know what I mean. Great reading, and best part is the monthly meetings w/ wine!!!

Last month sadly I had to miss it (due to work :( ), however last night I made it. It was fantastic! Wine, girls, laughs and a bit of reading recapping. LOL

The best part for me personally, is the push outside of my comfort zone. I am a habitual chick-lit reader. I haven't strayed from that genre since I don't know...college! LOL The choices these ladies have been making have not disappointed one bit. I would highly recommend either of these!

Now, this is where I ask you - what have you read recently? I need another book to read! Next months book club still isn't out yet & I'm ready!!! Spill!!!

Navy Me

I am in dire need of a mani/pedi, so much so I'm practically embarrassed of my scaly paws (not ever sure I can call them feet!). I tore my feet up running around in sandals for the last part of summer. But this weekend I will change that, promise. I don't want to disappoint you with my grooming, or lack there of! ;) hehe

While looking online at 'what is hot for Fall' in the world of nail polish, I fell in love with some new shades. Normally I'm a red, pink, and nude girl come summer. Then in fall/winter - still red, but a darker red and less poppy and then there is my standing favorite, Lincoln Park after Dark - the popular super dark burgundy/purple.

I'm not for change as you can see. However these two Essie shades are really calling my name. No more film, actually looks more navy-ish that purple when on. And Bobbing for Baubles, is just a shade of navy away from an almost black. Perfect for the moody chilly days of fall if you ask me!

Let's hope the nail salon has these, I am ready to test them out. If not, bummer man.....but you already know what I'll choose! LOL

What nail colors are you going to start wearing now that it is Fall?

my weekend

My Weekend. Did a bit of Spring cleaning, cept more like Fall Cleaning! The weather has turned and in the mornings it was down right chilly. Hello 40 degrees I did not miss you! After a trip to the gym I spent my days in comfy sweats and slipper socks - then cleaning house and cooking!

Rearranged the living room, deep cleaned the floors, and cooked some mean football grub! Homemade nachos and homemade Mac N' Cheese. Yum!

Please tell me you wear slipper socks too? They are my fav, like fav ever in the colder months!!!!

wedge options

As I promised yesterday, I want to show you how to style up wedge sneakers! It can be done in so many different ways - many of which will be perfect for Fall. It was so fun and easy! A bit sporty, a bit preppy and lastly a bit edgy-casual. Sign me up for all three!!!! Each look can easily be incorporated into your closet by using pieces you already have! I'm sold!

I'm torn between #2 & 3 as my favorites! I can totally see myself wearing either and both!

Seeing the outfits, did that bring you over to the wedge sneaker side? I will support it, as long as you stick to sold colors! :) hehe

Happy Weekend Loves!

thursday treats

Thursday treats have been missed for a few weeks, so I had to bring them back. I love sharing little bits or bobbles that catch my eye!
Available Here

Isabel Marant landed wedge sneakers on the map. Some like them, some don't. I was on the fence, except for Isabel's! But sold out everywhere and out of the price range for many those weren't an option, for me. I don't dislike the others them, but many of the others don't have the same appeal and the colors don't sing to me. Then Nike had to go and give me a pair I can totally get on board with. To me the mono-color in a more neutral color is the way to go. Styling these babies up tomorrow, to help show you the many ways these lovies could live happily in our closets!

Are you on or off the wedge shoe train?

PS- Babe, this are on the x-mas list! :) (Aren't you all starting your x-mas lists already?!)

sweater me crazy

So yesterday morning I woke up and headed out to work. Crazy process right?! I kid! Anyway, I got ready headed out for my walk to the train and commute into work. Brrrrrr. Brrrrr. It was shock to head out that front door. Had to turn myself right around and go grab a jacket! Yesterday was the just the start of the layering season!

Boo.

I thought I was ready. But, shocker, I am NOT! I thought chilly evenings would be fun, this hot summer obviously got to my head! Since that moment, all I have thought about - I need more sweaters. Sweaters to layer with, sweaters to bundle up with, sweaters to transition into cold weather with! I need them all!

1. Sweater Dress / 2. Sequin Collar / 3. Multi Color Stripes /

I seriously need all these, especially those sweater dresses!!! Slouchy, cozy and perfect to wear now without tights, and later on over thick tights and booties. I could pick a color, bot would be absolutely perfect! And yes the Sequined collar number haunts me. I check everyday to see if it is back in stock!! Are you sweater crazy yet?

weekend friends memories

The past two days have been endless rounds of cocktails.Laughs. Stories. New memories. And the most amount of fun!!!! We had one of our best friends in town this past weekend and I can honestly say I didn't want it to end. He is like my big brother, and that is what true friends feel like. Family.

I am hurting a bit today. Yes, we 'drank' it up this weekend. Mimosas at breakfast after a late night out. But hey when in Rome. :)

Here are some snippets of what I wore:
Saturday Night/Top: Zara Blazer, F21 T, Hudson Jeans black denim, Rag & Bone Booties, YSL bag
Sunday Day/Bottom: San Diego Chargers T-Shirt, Joes Jeans denim, Converse

A weekend that made me feel very loved and very happy! We all need weekends like those! How were your weekends?

in the Kitchen: Pesto Caprese CousCous Salad

Taking every opportunity to grill this summer has taken the Hubs and I through endless sides. Grilled corn, really any veggi I can grill I will & have! So we wanted to try something new.  Why not try a new twist on a pasta salad, except using israeli cous-cous in lieu of pasta. It turned out soooo good!

This salad was light, bright and full of flavor! Pesto plus elements of a caprese, and then pasta-like Israeli cous-cous. Yum YUM!

I loosely followed this recipe, we omitted peas, and I used a low-fat firmer skim mozzarella. Already imagining trying this again with feta, and olives for a mediterranean twist (maybe served alongside grilled lemon chicken).

Have you tried any new great sides this summer?

now n' later

Now & Later for clothes doesn't have to be just wearing an item from one season to the next. It can be as simple as wearing an item in the AM to work and then again on a weekend or any 'ole PM you'd like! :) I personally am able to do this much easier in Fall/Winter when my wardrobe seems to 'prep' up a bit.

This sweater is haunting me, and needs to come back in stock!! Here is how I would wear the sweater, along with my staples {bangle, studs and gold watch} to both work and out to play!
Embellished Sweater // Bangle // Studs // Watch // Trousers // Pumps // Jeans // Booties

This sweater could easily be traded out for a great blouse like this or maybe this. Who is with me - the AM to PM transition is so great! Makes investments really worth their weight ie price!

Bauble & Nina

Yesterday, when I opened my email from Grace about the newest collab for Bauble Bar I squealed! A B.B. and Nina Garcia capsule collection?!?!!!!! Holy wow!!! We all know how just stunning and beautiful Nina is, and when you pair her with the amazingness that is Bauble Bar (ie affordable and stunning quality jewels!) - you know dynamite was going to be the result!!!

I seriously am dying. I can see working every single piece into my life. The arrow-esqe sparkled necklace. The flower stunners?!!! I honestly had to spend 20 minutes to narrow it down to these favorites! Now, who wants to gift me them all????? Don't you want them too?????

Access Bauble Bar HERE.

such a tease

Sometimes I shop online. Well lots. But most times I just fill up my cart with items I really really want and then close it.

It is therapeutic (and sometimes it makes me kinda sad). Want to see what I added to my cart most recently? Sure ya do!!!

I am not alone in this right? You guys tease yourself like this too?!!!! My favorite sites to do this are Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Outnet &  Nordstrom! You?

Holiday

Outfit: T, Old Navy // Shorts, Paige // Belt, old // Sandals, Topshop // Purse, Chloe

Holiday. Unplug. Relax. Nap. Veg. Ride Bike. Veg again. That was me, and it was wonderful. Having gone 200 mph last week at work, I kinda crashed. Crashed hard. We had an extra day off on Friday, with every intention of being blog-productive... and...we know it didn't happen. I made it to Barre class, to get my brows waxed and then napped and putzed around the house. Saturday Barre class, grocery & putz. Repeat. Sunday repeat. Monday Repeat.

Being lazy at it's finest! My mind needed to not think. Add in a BBQ with friends, late night bike rides around an empty city, and a little afternoon stroll downtown I am ready to petition 4 day weekends mandatory at least once a month!

How were your weekends?
