Currently things are falling into distinct categories - all things Gold, Silver and Bronze!!! Obvs....I am addicted to the Olympics. I love watching the weird sports just as much as the mainstream! I watched my first field hockey event, ever - I mean I've heard of it but never really seen people play it. Dressage was way cool, like horse dancing. Of course swimming and gymnastics. Have you tuned in? What's been your favorite so far?

Denim O

It's summer, one can wear a denim dress and not be out of place. And hey if the back happens to be cut out in a giant O - why the heck not! You have to take advantage when you can, and while the temps are still warm!!!

Ok, it is safe to say I am obsessed with these booties!!! I posted about them here, and was staring at them for ages before that......I really need them. I need black boots, so this is the smart choice, although I love the brown just as much. Both. I think I need both! ;) I wont but I can dream I could have both!

These are not the same (in real life). Both are soooo FAB. Now the question is...... what color do I paint our place this weekend?!

Who knew there were sooo many shades of grey or is that gray? 


I am doing it, not hiring someone as initially planned. I've done it before, I'll do it again. And I painted a hallway for my Mom this past weekend and it was fun! {That is what I am saying now, minus paint all over my hair and arms!} HELP! 

Vacation Bits...

Man Vacation....it was Perfect!!! I am ready for another go, like right now!!!! I have a tan (and a slight sunburn). I don't have care in the world. I already miss my Mom and Brother like you wouldn't believe, seeing each of them only a handful times a year is not good for my soul. I need more of them. I need more vacations with my Hubs. I think I am still on vacation cloud 9!!!!!

One thing I really owe to my Hubs, is the forced unplugging and reconnecting. While we were waiting to board our flight, we were both sitting there on our phones. He looked at me and said no phones. I nodded. I turned off for 5 solid days - out of the 9. There were blips of looking, but no tweeting, instagraming or FBing. Do it. It is amazing for the soul! It was hard, I am not gonna lie - sad to say. I am back, but I have a new found appreciation for the 'not' & will work to better balance it.

Headed off for a few days....

To the happiest place on Earth!!!! To a place where you will always be a kid! No agenda or frowns here - I can't wait to let loose and live it up like a kid! When was the last time you went to an amusement park? I haven't been in years, I think we calculated 7 or more. Time to fix that!!!!

Easy does it. I have been keeping it short and sweet for this vacation - super easy and relaxed. I have every intention of wearing this today out shopping - except my tank is orange and my shorts are denim. But who knows I may end up in a sundress! It's hot, it's humid and no stress here.

I am on vacation. 

A vacation for more than a full week!!! Full 8 days of vacation bliss. 

The Hubs and I jetted out of town early Friday and are down by the beach in sunny Florida visiting with my Mom and Bro. 

I am in heaven. 

It's glorious. 

I am doing my best to not think about work. 

But I am working extra hard to look this chic at the beach,!!! I know I don't and I don't mind!!! 

I am on vacation!!!!

We are hot and heavy in the decorating of our new place, it is soo fun! But you can sure bet I am still combing the interwebs at decor images. Reminds me of my unhealthy obsession in reading wedding blogs....which I can't believe I am sharing! I still do - love em!  I had to share these with you! I love looking at other peoples homes..I love to dream!

So bold yet refined in my eyes. I love that airplane photograph in the top image. Which leads me to a question for you all! Where have you found great photographs for your home? I have found a couple that are just not hitting the mark or waaay outta my price range. Please share!

Fall Cravings, Part 1

My self imposed shopping ban really curbed my desire to purchase items for summer. I have been forced to look at what I have, reinvent and wear. It's been great! I really could only see adding a pair of shorts or two into the mix. And maybe another dress - but dresses are so great because so many can transition into the beginnings of fall with a great little jacket (like the little denim number I finally got!)!

Speaking of fall - it's all I really want to purchase right now. Crazy, I know right?! Especially after the heat wave we just had!! Days with a heat index of 110 - crazy hot and humid! I thought I'd share a few items I'm currently craving for Fall 2012. {And by craving - I will be making all these mine!}

Bits of....

I am gonna toot my own horn - I cook a mean piece of Salmon! Big news, because I am not a seafood person, don't like it much at all - however Salmon is my new thing, esp over quinoa with lots of fresh squeezed lemon. This was a garlic dill salmon - soooo good! 

Moscow Mules - offically the drink of the Summer. Fresh lime juice and ginger beer - 300% refreshing!!! Especially when enjoyed al fresco and chatting with your fun new neighbors!

Every night should end with a relaxing break on the deck with one you love! Yesterday we ended things right! 

And some fun extras - that didn't make it to instagram! ;) 

LEFT: I think we found our new deck table.....Super sale and able to seat 6+! 

RIGHT: A little visitor I spotted while getting up early for work! He politely ruffled around int eh dirt of my plants and got it everywhere...pshhh!

Wouldn't you love to be invited on an impromptu weekend getaway? A sunny quaint little lake side town sounds divine!!!! Unplug and recharge? Yes please! Just to get out of the city for a minute, even just a night. Fresh air, over indulgent breakfast, a stroll through town. A pit stop for drinks and more local fare. Then head home?!

I'd stuff my bag with the bare necessities and hit the road at a moments notice!

So I had every intention of coming back full force today. Then this happened:

And then we laughed and talked and watched the most fabulous harvest orange moon rise above the roof tops, a midst the local  firework shows! ie People setting them off in the street! (From the roof deck of our neighbors place!!!}

Needless to say this new neighborhood rocks!!!! Inviting us over, getting us tipsy drunk, and feeding us some amazing food! What a warm welcome into the 'hood!!!

I can't wait to see what this summer has in store!

PS- Need your outdoor furniture recommendations, new deck = gigantic (like a couch and 6 person table, and still room big!!!) - our dinky table isn't going to cut it, and we need to upgrade like ASAP!

My life is compartmentalized & labeled. One may think great job chica. But no... Boxes upon boxes, with a side of more boxes! HA! We don't hold onto much, so thankfully it is a manageable amount. I know why one doesn't move often!!!
