the Straight on the Curls, Sponsored

If you have read the 'ole blog for any length of time, you may have picked on a certain lack of 'Curly' in this here City. My hair is mostly shown straight or with big barrel curls/waves - artificial curl. So it really appears I am some sort of joke-ster, with my name....I am not, the curls are there. See:

One of the few full curly head moments....

I wear my hair curly 4/5 days a week to work - so when you see me its a weekend and I have the time to play & I'm not gonna lie, these curls are crazy and sometimes look horrible (to me) and I am not a fan or wearing my hair up when I go out. And straightening it is a surefire away I will like it more than not.

I'm guessing the folks over at Misikko picked up on that! They emailed and asked I wanted to try one of their salon grade flat irons....umm YES!!! So they sent me a Hana - and me loves!!! They wanted my honest opinion - so here you have it: After using this beauty for a few months I'm sold. It works wonders for my fine yet unruly curl. I would totally recommend checking out their site if you were in the market for replacing an old hair dryer/straightener.

PS- You'll never guess that I took these bottom photos with a point & shoot camera would you?! I grabbed a new one recently to throw in my purse for nights out...It has manual settings just like my SLR, so I can do all the stuff I want (Depth of Field without having my SLR on me, should the need arise!) !!!

  1. Your hair looks cute either way! I have super curly hair too! Hehehe. I tend to blow dry my hair and use my straightener in the colder months but the summer in DC is way to humid so I have to let the curls win the battle.

  3. how fun that you got to review such a great product! a good straightening iron is a must have for us curly headed girls...and i, like you, don't always love the way my curly hair looks and feel like it has a bit more of a "going out" look to straighten it. But your curls are very pretty. :)

  4. Chiming in from another curly haired gal, I love your curls! But isn't that always the case-you love it on everyone else but yourself! I did a review in July on a Hana blow dryer and it's awesome for blowing out curly hair straight. I may need to check out their flat iron. I'm due for a new one and based on your review and my experience with their dryer, this might be my next purchase!

  7. you always need a good flat iron but I am fixated on how good the quality of these photos are! Think I'm gonna need to invest in a point and shoot soon...carrying around the SLR all the time is a pain in my a**! xo

  10. Point and shoot, these images look amazing. I am still using a Chi flat iron but it's barely hanging on so I'll have to try the Hana when it finally goes! xo

  12. Ah we're talking curls so I must chip in here :-) As much as I love my own curly hair, I agree with everything you say here. I find straight hair is easier to put up, try different styles, when my hair is curly it's usually just well down and that's that! I have some GhDs which I love and do a great job, but now you have me interested... might just check these out!
