blizzard'd!!!!

We came we saw we Blizzard'd 2011. (I know that isn't a word but it sounds cool, and what is Blizzard in pass tense - shoot I'm not even going to pretend that I did well in college English!) Sorry I missed you yesterday, blame it on working when your entire office was supposed to be observing 'Closed for the Storm Day' yet I wasn't! And then the Hubs temped me so with his snuggly ways as soon as I signed off for the night!

Any who, I was all gung-ho to run out and snap a whole bunch of photos of the aftermath, but the pooch wasn't having any of it (double duty mission of course, potty and photo run). I couldn't even get any cute photos of him buried up to his... well just plan buried because after the first time it went passed his head he did his business and wanted no part of any more. So while I carried him with me, I tried to capture a few shots from the street out front of our building. Heres the best of what I got. (I live right down the block from two hospitals, so we are lucky we have this much plowed by midday Wednesday)

Mr. Grey car drove into a drift around 8pm...he is not parallel parked - he is middle of the road!

Bit of a better angle. Not sure where his owners disappeared to, but Mr Grey car remained in the middle of the road til after 3pm Wednesday....as were plenty more cars all over the city!

This was the first minute we were out, this area never has snow it is under a huge awning - hence the  initial pooch excitement!!!

Everything they showed on the news, the 5-12 drifts were true and are everywhere...I am sad I didn't get any!!! But know there is no lack of snow anywhere!!! Sidewalks are narrow pathways though 2-3 ft banks of snow - not fun I tell ya!

These are a few taken from the safety of our condo on my iPhone.

Areal view of that poor soul stuck in the road. This was at 8:00am before it started blasting again. So there was less snow than the shots above.

This is 8:30am when it was near white-out conditions. Shot from the dining table where I was working away. Notice the building just about gone. Wednesday night it was gone from view, as were the trees!

Here is looking just slightly to the left. What you can't see is the HUGE United Center which is literally right beyond that faint straight line.
The United Center is the huge stadium the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawk's play at...so no little building.

Do you see now why I instantly dreamed of being beach bound?

And last but most certainly not least- HAPPY FRIDAY and WEEKEND!!!

  15. Where'd you get the jacket your pup is wearing? I have a boy yorkie/maltese mix and I've been searching EVERYWHERE to find him a warm jacket the zips up the back with a d-ring to attach a leash and I've had zero luck. I found plenty for my girl dog, but nothing for the boy.

If you could email me at iknowshesthereatgmaildotcom I would really appreciate it!
