Gift Guide: The Foodie

Let's start the week with a little gift giving for the 'Foodie', Kitchen Maven, Budding Chef on your list! Do you have a friend who loves to run around and have fun in the kitchen? Someone who is trying to improve their skills? Someone trying to be a good lil wife (read myself)? Someone who loves to experiment and have fun?

Here are some fun little trinkets to expand their knowledge, some fun useful items that will show you thought about what their interests are...and of course how to look cute while doing it (if female of course!)

Let's start with a way to spice it up! Gourmet Flavored salts - Spice up a soup, salad, seafood or gravy! Vintage Merlot, Aged Balsamic, Curry and Cocunut/Lime to name a few! I mean seriously how fun! The colors are so cool..imagine adding this to a dish with a friend watching - Def convo starter!

Now to wrap it up pretty! No one wants to mess up their outfit while cooking, but how many Hostesses' want to look like they know exactly what they are doing and oh so chic! Wrap on this apron and you will be looking a little more 21st century Julia Childs than 'Rachel' a la Friends (you all watched Friends incessantly like me right??? Well if not, it was Monica who knew her way around Rachel not so much!!!).  Chevron, no frilly ruffles - so modern! I love the 'cell' pocket, you can keep your phone handy so when you are running from the kitchen to the door you can easily keep your phone handy to answer those frantic calls from the party who inevitably take a wrong turn!**Santa - You can add this to my wish list!

It helps to stay organized but come on looking good while doing it, is even better! I love this vintage recipe box! (you could even store photos in if you wanted!) Imagine pulling this out and knowing exactly where all your best recipes were....Unlike me, I have a file file folder of prints out. No order, no easy way to find a great side or main dish without going through them all!

Even the cutest chefs need to clean up their creations, so why not give them some fresh new dish towels. They are a kitchen staple, but if they are anything like me, you realize after all your towels are dirty that you have none left.... Plus such a simple way to add a splash of color into the kitchen. You can use them as stocking stuffers or a part of gift - They would go great in a mini basket of Kitchen extras - fancy hand soap & lotion, a nice odor eliminating candle, etc. Sometimes a great gift is something someone may not necessarily buy for themselves but they would like! (Hi Mom I know that is you!)

And finally give your favorite Hostess a little help, or some great inspiration to use for her (or his) next event! I absolutely adore Ina and every time I watch her I instantly am hungry!!! All of her food has a simplicity and rustic-ness, yet it is so refined and made with such skill! This would be a great addition to anyones kitchen!

Is there anything else that would make a great gift to a 'Foodie' - kitchen maven????
