sooo proud

There are no words that can describe the way I feel today. Joy, pride, proud, enthusiastic, hopeful, nervous...I could go on but you catch my drift, right?!

Today, my brother starts his journey into adulthood. He will begin his journey at the US NAVAL ACADEMY!!!! Induction into the Navy, then 6 weeks of Basic Training and then all the fun that follows!

I know this will be the time of his life, and more than he could have ever dreamed of for his future!

I don't know how to express the emotions I have about it - it is so tough. I am soo proud of him, I don't know if he even understands! I wish I was half the adult he has already proven to be - Choosing to join the military, serve our country and showing to the world how selfless we should strive to be. He turned down amazing opportunities from Ivy league schools, full rides to some of the most prestigious Universities in the country, all to follow his dreams. (which I know he will achieve and surpass!) He worked hard while his friends were enjoying being a 'kid' because his dreams were too important for him to not keep them in sight at all times. He beat the odds and is coming out on top and with flying colors I might add!!!!

I could go on and one about how amazing he truly is! (I may be a bit biased because he is my brother - but he really is!) Only recently have we gotten the true brother sister relationship I always dreamed of having. He is so much younger than me (10 yrs), he was just a munchkin when I left for college and began my 'adult' life. And now we can laugh and joke and be the siblings we have always been - except now there is a difference (do you guys understand?) We are both adults, we can talk about serious stuff, joke behind Mom's back (sorry Mom!) and talk, just talk. Man I love this kid!

Please keep him in your thoughts as he begins this amazing journey, this journey that will ultimately protect our dreams!

JHCK - I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!!!!! You make me soo proud and I would give my life for you! I can't wait to see you again, and you know I will always be here for you no matter the situation!!!! Kick ASS and take names Bubs!!!!
